The Central Institute for Blood Transfusion and Immunological Department (ZIB) is part of the Tirol Kliniken GmbH and has been collaborating closely with the Red Cross since 1950 to ensure a safe preparation, testing and distribution of blood components. Since then, further functional entities such as a stem cell and bone marrow facility as well several diagnostic facilities have been added to this central unit.

In addition to a variety of apheresis procedures the ZIB has been offering extracorporeal photopheresis for more than 10 years.
